Colorless crystal, in the form of a column or needle, with a bitter taste, with a white appearance in the form of flakes, granules, or powders, commonly known as brine flakes, brine particles, or brine powder. It is easily soluble in water and ethanol, and is prone to deliquescence in high humidity. Hot melt decomposition at 116-118 ℃. Mixing with magnesium oxide and water forms magnesium cement, which is widely used in the production of magnesite materials. React with hydroxides of alkali metals or alkaline earth metals.

It is used as an adhesive for manufacturing refractory materials and furnace arms, and is a raw material for manufacturing No. 2 flux and smelting magnesium metal.

Mainly used in the production of various magnesium salts, such as magnesium oxide, magnesium hydroxide, magnesium carbonate, firecracker fixative, and also as raw materials for antifreeze.

Made of hard and corrosion-resistant magnesia cement with magnesia clay (MgO), it can be used to make artificial marble, magnesia clay tiles, floors, ceilings, decorative panels, fireproof boards, greenhouse brackets, inorganic fiberglass greenhouse framework, magnesia insulated chicken coop, corrugated colored tiles, ventilation ducts, partition panels, magnesia manhole covers, bathtubs, door and window frames, and movable houses. Used as an antifreeze during winter construction.

In daily life, using bitter clay can be made into mechanical packaging boxes, triangular cushion edges, and furniture, making it a good material for “replacing materials with soil”.
