Benzoyl chloride (CAS No.: 98-88-4), also known as benzoyl chloride, is a colorless, smoky liquid with a pungent odor. In the laboratory, benzoic acid and phosphorus pentachloride can be obtained by distillation under anhydrous conditions. The large-scale preparation of benzoyl chloride can be obtained by using benzaldehyde chloride sulfoxide chloride. The melting and boiling points of benzoyl chloride were -1ºC and 198ºC, respectively, and the density was 1.212. It is a kind of acyl chloride. Benzoyl chloride is an important intermediate for the preparation of dyes, fragrances, organic peroxides, pharmaceuticals and resins. Benzoyl chloride is also used in photography and tannic acid production, and has been used in chemical warfare as an irritant gas.

Application & Function
Benzoyl Chloride CAS No.: 98-88-4 is used for organic synthesis, dyes and pharmaceutical raw materials, manufacturing initiator of benzoyl peroxide, tert-butyl benzoate, pesticide herbicide, etc. In terms of pesticides, a new type of induced insecticide is Isoxathion (Karphos) intermediate. Benzoyl chloride is an important benzoyl and benzyl reagent. Most of benzoyl chloride to produce benzoyl peroxide, and then used in the production of diphenyl ketone, benzyl benzoate, benzyl cellulose and benzamide of important chemical raw materials, such as benzoyl peroxide for plastic monomer polymerization initiator, polyester, epoxy, acrylic resin production since the admixture of catalyst, glass fiber material, silicon fluorine rubber crosslinking agent, oil refining, bleaching flour, fiber bleaching, etc.
