Acetyl Tributyl Citrate ATBC CAS No.: 77-90-7 is synthesized by esterification of citric acid and n-butanol under the action of catalyst. The raw materials of acetyl tributyl citrate (ATBC) are acetic acid, citric acid and n-butanol. ATBC is a non-toxic and odorless main plasticizer. ATBC is less toxic than TBC. ATBC as the main plasticizer, has strong solubility, oil resistance, light resistance, and has a good mildew resistance. It has good compatibility with most cellulose, polyvinyl chloride, polyvinyl acetate and so on. It is mainly used as plasticizer of cellulose resin and vinyl resin. In the aspect of children's toys, DOP is prohibited in more and more fields with the continuous discovery of DOP toxicity data, while ATBC is non-toxic, odorless, transparent, low water extraction rate, plasticizing plastic products with good processing performance, good thermal bonding, convenient secondary processing, especially suitable for the use of children's toys as the main plasticizer. In meat packaging, ATBC is non-toxic and can be used as meat packaging material, while DOP cannot be used in food packaging with high fat content. And ATBC tasteless, will not cause food odor, through its plasticized plastic products transparent, good printing performance. In medical products, ATBC is non-toxic, low water extraction rate, no potential harm to human body, its plasticized medical products have good high temperature resistance and low temperature performance. As an excellent plasticizer, ATBC not only meets the requirement of non-toxic plasticizer, but also can be used in general plastic products. Cellulose film plasticized with ATBC has a lower volatility loss and a stronger adhesion to metals than cellulose film containing DBP.
